Innovation Days in Berlin: DiP in exchange on resilience through innovation

DiP at the Innovation Days in Berlin: Exchange on side streams, alternative proteins and plant-based active ingredients along the plant-based value chain.

Two intensive days in Berlin are behind us: At the Innovation Days of BMLEH and BLE, the focus was on exchange, networking and new impulses for innovations along the plant value chain.

Two intensive days in Berlin are behind us:
The Innovation Days of BMLEH and BLE at the bcc Berlin were held under the guiding theme “Resilience through Innovation”. At the same time, the 20th anniversary of the innovation programme of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture was celebrated.

The circle of exhibitors was correspondingly diverse. With the JKI, the DBFZ and the GMBU, several DiP partners were also represented. At the same time, the broadly based programme offered many opportunities for discussions. The question of how research along the plant value chain can be transferred into application was always discussed.

The discussions on site focused on various topics. These included additional usage options for side streams of sugar production, alternative proteins and plant-based active ingredients for animal health. DiP stakeholders were also represented in the expert sessions. Dr. Martin Dippe from the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) gave insights into concrete innovative research approaches.

The exchange in Berlin also showed how important the connection between research and application is. Research should not be viewed in isolation. Rather, it must be geared towards scaling and connectivity to existing value-added structures at an early stage.

We are taking a lot of impetus from Berlin. We are also looking forward to further networking and to the next discussions on transfer to application.

The programme and the conference proceedings can be found on the BMLEH website.
